It is so easy for our generation to be swept away by all the lies that the world tells us. Now more than ever, the world is pushing for things that contradict Scripture. For example, the Bible says to put other peoples’ needs above our own (Philippians 2:3-4.) The world says that our number one priority should be ourselves. The Bible says to love your enemies (Matthew 5:44.) The world says to cut people that you do not like out of your life. The Bible says that our hearts are desperately wicked and cannot be trusted (Jeremiah 17:9.) The world says to follow your heart because that is what leads to true happiness. The list could go on, but we believe our point is clear: the world is drifting farther and farther away from the Bible.
The question is, can we do anything about this? Within ourselves, no. However, as believers, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us. We can present unbelievers with information, but in the end, the Holy Spirit is the only one who can soften their hearts and enable them to allow Jesus into their lives.
You can see then that we do indeed have a responsibility. We are called to share the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20,) and we are called to stand up for what the Bible says is right. This is our purpose. This is why we are here on earth.
One of the theme verses for this blog is 1 Corinthians 9:24. It says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” This verse depicts one of the blog’s main goals. We want teenagers to know their purpose in life and run after it without getting distracted (Hebrews 12:1.)
The other theme verse is 1 Timothy 4:12. It says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” Even as teenagers, we can set an example for believers of all ages. You do not have to wait until you are older to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. With God’s help, you can do it now. In fact, you are commanded to do it now.
So what is the goal of this blog? We are praying it will encourage you to know your purpose, run towards your purpose, and strip off anything that would hinder you from fulfilling your purpose. Of course, we can write as many articles as we want, but without God working in both the writers’ hearts and the readers’ hearts, nothing will be accomplished. We pray that God will soften all our hearts and allow this blog to point back to Him because, in the end, that is our purpose.
This is really well done, I’m super excited to see how this blog takes off in the future!!
Thanks, Dylan! We’re really excited too!
